May the old year wash away as the new year flows in. I am a leaf floating on the river of life.
I figured it was time to change the name of my blog to reflect the fact that I blog about all the Japanese dog breeds, and not just the Kai. So here it is, the same me, the same dogs, new blog. http://nihonken.blogspot.com
I hope the new year is good to you. Love the photo, by the way. Looks like a can of whoopass is about to get opened.
ReplyDeleteShinnen akemashite omedetou! Look forward to reading the new blog!
ReplyDeleteHi Kato,
ReplyDeleteTrying to find information regarding the 2 hunting dogs found at Arahama that were on the news. Did you see that?
I can send the link if you didn't.
They a a Brittany Spaniel and an English Setter.
There was also a third dog that was found.
They were owned by a Hunter who is in the hospital and don't know if he will make it.
Where would they have hunted near Arahama- Watari Sendai?
Were there woods/mountains near there?
They seem to be bird dogs.
Should the owner have to microchip themm - or should they be registered?
Could you please let me know. alexinas at gmail dot com
Thank you
Sandie
Sandie, they do look like hunting dogs. I'm not sure of all the particulars, but I did read a while ago that these dogs were taken in by a rescue organization.
ReplyDeleteThere is plenty of hunting up north, though your guess would be as good as mine as far as where they might have been hunted.
Dogs in Japan do not have to be chipped, and the vast majority are not. They would probably be registered though, as that is a legal requirement here in Japan (along with yearly rabies vaccinations). Of course some dogs are not registered.
